The basic idea would be to use the original style receivers from Armalite but with slightly thicker walls so the aluminium could be engraved in a 3D pattern, utilizing artists from each state's design and using billet receivers machined in that state with as many parts as possible made in said state.

Wood furniture would also be used so it could be engraved as well with state specific artwork. E.g., for Oregon, a beaver would be engraved on the stock along with western meadowlarks, oregon grape sprigs, the Oregon state motto and so on. I thought bull barrels with state artwork as well. Since the demo one is Oregon, it would have a 20" PacNor barrel. The grip would be wood as well with the state seal.

Since there's two types of AR rifle that's popular, there would be two for each state, an AR-10 and an AR-15. The serials could be ORE-10-01 or NHA-15-02 (for New Hampshire): -01 for the AR-10 version and -02 for the AR-15.

If extra bling was essential, I figured titanium nitrided bolts in gold, match quality triggers with gold triggers, and gold scrollwork surrounding the artwork on receivers/furniture.

In total there would be 102 weapons, 2 per state and 2 based on just America as a whole. Also, more could be done with certain patriotic organizations, like Boy Scouts or the like [I have issues with the boy scouts myself but I still think they're a good program].

The idea is for working art pieces. Something that in a pinch you could shoot but they’re for wall hanging, not hunting with.

The charity aspect of it comes from getting the work and parts done as free as possible and then donating the weapons to state firearm organizations and having them auction or raffle them off, or having them do the build/finding artists/engravers for each of their states then updating a central site for how much was raised. I thought maybe having them be on a site saying how much the weapon went for and what charity each gun went to would be good as well.

Even if I can't find USwide support for it, I figured I would try to do the idea for an Oregon centric build when I return from an internship I'm trying for.
