Springfield 1911, Thin recoil spring tunnel ? this more than a cosmetic issue ?

Is the recoil spring tunnel on this Springfeld too thin on the one side an issue or is it nothing more than a cosmetic deal ? If its just a cosmetic issue I may grind the other side down to match and have it beadblasted

If it were mine, I'd send it back. No excuse for things like this. It pays to look closely at any gun you're thinking of making your own.
