I finally sold my old AR and received my brand new RRA complete lower tonight. I would like to know if anyone in the Albuquerque, NM area knows of any reputable engravers so I can make an SBR. I know there are reputable places to ship to out-of-state, but I want the quickest turnaround time and would prefer to have this done locally, if possible.

My landlord, who has owned SBR's in the past, recommended Eagle Machine in Corrales. Can anyone vouch for these guys?

I left a message at August Arms, and am waiting to hear back.

Turns out Eagle Machine was a bust; the guy I talked to freely admitted he doesn't engrave much, and that his engraving wouldn't look the best but would fly. He still wanted to charge me 50-75$, but couldn't tell me which price :P

Trophy shop was mentioned but many of them only do laser engraving which is not deep enough, or they engrave aluminum plates which might work on an AR lower but not a steel receiver. Remember the engraving needs to be not less than .003 deep. Scratching the surface with a vibrating tool won't cut it either.

I tried August Arms, the guy I talked to couldn't direct me to anyone.

I found Albuquerque Laser Engraving Services, owned by a guy named Lee. $30 and I got engravings done with 1-day turnaround. Sharp lettering and everything I wanted. Lettering is within ATF spec, depth and height. He will be getting my business from now on. Here is his info if anyone is interested.
