That's a hog of a deer. We never see any that size around here.
Congrats to the boy who shot him.
His college education just got paid for.
Probably never have to buy a rifle or any hunting/fishing/camping gear for as long as he lives either.

This fact is what makes me suspicious of those folks who "supposedly" caught and then released a world record largemouth bass recently.
Most any serious fisherman or hunter realizes that a world record, particularly in highly sought game like largemouth bass or whitetail deer, is going to be a gold mine in endorsements.
You know that the makers of that young man's muzzleloader, bullet, powder, camo, etc. are just salivating at the idea of an ad campaign with a picture of that buck.

I think Cabelas bought the rights to display this deer, paying a six figure sum to those that had taken it.

Notice he's wearing all Knight brand clothing, it's also the brand of the muzzleloader he used.

Nice Deer. How much is the license for out of state hunters. :D Ol mountain man like me could walk over those flatlands with ease. Just kidding, but I would like to try a hunt someday in midwest.

You know, the more I think about this, the more I figure that a 15 year old was the perfect hunter for this situation. He thinks, "Cool, big deer" and then makes the shot. An adult hunter, after seeing this deer, would require 30 minutes to come down from the shakes and then a lifetime of therapy for dealing with the deer that should have been.

Nico,
That is the Boone and Crockett score via their measurement system. It includes antler lengths, beam lengths, beam circumference and inside spread, all measured in inches. You can download scoring instructions and the scoring sheets from the B&C website.
