Does anybody have any recommendations for gun store/shooting ranges in the Overland Park KS area? I'm looking to buy my first pistol but am new to the area.

Isn't there a Cabelas close to there?

When I lived there I did most of my shopping at Galyans especially when they had their 10% off and no payments no interest deal going on.

The Bullet Hole has some good folks (except one foul mouthed knucklehead) there but some of their prices are too high. I did buy a couple of guns from them at a decent price.

Never bought anything from Cabelas but it is a nice store. Cool aquarium.

Yeah Cabelas isn't too far away. I live about an hour north on the Missouri side. I used to live in KC but that was when I was in High School.

In Overland Park, go to the Bullet Hole at Shawnee Mission Pkwy. and Robinson (a few blocks west of Metcalf). Jeff Neumann is the manager there. He and his staff will be glad to help. The obnoxious loudmouth could be Jim Dodd. He's a very funny fellow once you get to know him. There is an indoor range (25 yrd). Prices are very reasonable. The posted price is not what you'll pay, unless you tick them off.

Come to think of it I have heard of the Bullet Hole, just never knew where it was. Too bad I don't live in a CCW state!
