I just came across this on Winchester's web site: a new Trail's End with a octagon barrel and case coloring.
Wicked nice looking...(will they ever offer it in .38-55?).
Has anyone handled one of these yet?

I saw that too a week ago or so. I was a little disappointed they are only offering it in pistol cartridges. I thought the price was a little steep, but it’s cheaper and looks better IMHO than the “special edition” 1892’s floating around. I can only hope they wise up and offer it in 30-30 or even better 38-55.

Nice ....
... except for that :cuss: tang safety. Can't mount a tang sight on there.

I believe Marble makes a very nice tang sight for the current production Winchesters- just bought one last month for my 1892 Short Rifle (also with a tang safety).
