Title says it all. I finally pulled the trigger on the Ruger MKIII 22/45. $240 NIB at LGS.

I was looking for accessories for this bag boy and am having trouble finding a good central place. I didnt get the one with removable grips because the price of the one without was too good to pass up.

Mainly I am looking for a good grip add on like Hogue. Or any other type if accessory that would be great to have for this little gem.

EDIT: I got a nice Red Dot for it. Will do until I can get a Bushnell I was looking at. Sorry for the image quality.

Go to this site and order the extracotr. I dont know how I ever lived without it... You can do the full kit later if you get bored... I use to have problems with FTE's but after replacing the extractor its been 100% reliable...

Thanks for the tip. I was thinking about doing that and the mag disconnect. Also thinking about getting the grip job done. Modifying it for 1911 style grips. Although I might just keep it like it is and get a hogue universal slip on. Going to teach my kid on it so dont want it to be too big.

Good buy. Go here for good info. This guy has info on every aspect of Ruger MK series pistols.

Check this guy to see if he has a grip mod that will fit your gun. I hope he is still making them. Mine are great.

Adding on wraparound grips like the hogue hand-all is a problem because it has to be removed for disassembly of the pistol.

A couple of people at rimfirecentral.com forums have made grips that either sticky-tape over the existing grip "panels" or screw in place over them. There are also several people who will mill your existing grip side panels flat and install 1911 bushings so you can use 1911 grip panels... if you want to do that. This will void your warranty of course. :)

As for parts,

Clark custom for a hammer bushing,
Volquartsen for a sear and trigger (and hammer if you like),
and get rid of the mag disconnect.

IMO those are the priorities.

Impactguns.com has good deals on magazines when they are available.

Good grips are available from Dominic Notaro. His magazine base pads are nice, too.

Most of the rest of the good stuff - trigger, hammer, sights, comp - comes from Volquartsen.
