Sig P226

I put a used Sig P226 on layaway at a local store some time ago. I finally brought it home and cleaned it up. It is missing some of the finish, but it appears that it has been carried a lot and shot a little. From the info that I can find, it was made in 1995. It has night sights. I can't wait to get to the range to try it out. It only has one mag. I believe that it will accept the P226 18 round mags (after market)

The P226 is a great pistol and you did very well.
I have a 1996 vintage German P226 myself.
Let us know how it shoots for you. I am betting you will be very pleased.
Be sure to take good care of it. SIGs need religious lubing - especially the frame rails and regular maintenance of changes for the recoil spring and breach block pins of at least every 5000 rounds.

Great pickup. I have always heard nothing but great things about the P226. I have a S&W 5903 3rd generation and have always wondered if they were close in how they shoot.
Good luck, and let us know how the Sig shoots.

I have a 2340 and a CPO 228. Very happy with both. I want to get a .40cal 229, or 229 next.

I've never had one, and I'd been interested to hear how you like it.
I do have the 226 sport models, and I like them very much, but I never shot the basic model.
My shooting buddy has the 228 and since he got that (about 2 years ago), I haven't seen his Glock since.

I just got back from the range with my new pistol. I fed it a mixed bag of solids and hollow points. It took it all and begged for more. At first, I shot a little to the right. After another mag, I recognized how it was shooting and before long I was dancing water bottles and 25 to 50 yards regularly. It is very accurate and will become my favorite I am sure!
I am always a little leery when I buy a used gun. I loaded it and and hoped it would go bang when I pulled the trigger. I think I made a good deal on this pistol.
Now, I don't know what to buy next...lol
