I got a Irve Johnson model 3 32 S&W "Short". She fires and cycles greate. However she kinda spits fire out the sides when i test fired her.
i narrowed it down to the cylinder having some wiggle. the bullets kind slide a lil bit but nothing bad. SHe cycles each round and hammer hits hard in the center.
I have looked but to no avail. anyone know how to tighten the cylinder without taking it apart?
I got this with out the wife knowing, then "gave" it to her ;) Because i snagged a Colt Trooper.

Those little revolvers are well known to have an excessive cylinder/barrel gap, and also if the quill (the tube the cylinder revolves on) is a little bent the chamber throats will no longer be concentric with the bore. If the quill is causing the problem you might find a new (used) one at www.e-gunparts.com but nothing says it will have to fit.
I’m delighted that you got the Colt, but frankly I think it be nice to find your wife a better piece of hardware, or if she had to shoot someone she could stand sideways. :uhoh:

I'm glad you like the gun. I had one that Irve's brother Iver made (;)) and it was the worst gun I've ever owned. Always wondered if they were all like mine.

Said i didn't think you would like it cause its old and needs some work. She liked it then gave me that look of how much i paid. she didn't believe me then i showed her the receipt. and now its hers...lol now its my job to make it safe for her till i get her a pink pistol......
