[Miami357]

Checked out the inventory in a Miami pawn shop. A Smith and Wesson .41 Magnum, for $675 looked very nice condition. But that seems like alot. I cannot afford it anyways.

But might hope to own something like this to complement a couple of 357 Magnums revolvers I already own.

How do these things shoot and is the recoil significant......

They're a lot of fun to shoot.

$675 is probably way too much for the gun.

Recoil can be mild to pretty severe, depending on the load.

The max I would pay for a pristine Smith & Wesson
4" or 6" blue and/or nickel model 57 in a wooden
mahogany box with all tools and paperwork would
be $500.00 Cuz as they say, "money talks, and BS
walks"! :uhoh: :D

Requirement: Either of these weapons MUST HAVE
the "S" serial prefix.

I looked at one in a local gun shop for about that same price. It was a pretty gun, but the price tag was miles past ludicrous, so I left it there.

Great pistol in a great caliber, but he is way too proud of that revolver. $450 would be a good price.

Is it a model 57 or a 657? I bought a model 57 with the 8 5/8" barrel a few years ago for under $400, saw one the other day with a 6" for $350.

Recoil is greater that your 357's but not punishing. One caveat about the .41 is that ammo is not available just anywhere and it can be pricey. If you're going to shoot one a lot you really need to load your own.

First, everyones jumping to price conclusions and the original poster has given little to no info. What model? What serial #? Box? Accessories? Exact condition ? Give something better to go on please.

Albert, good point. I did not ascertain the model number, and whatever else, nevertheless, I think I will shop elsewhere, just based on what I have learned here. OTOH, maybe the pawn shop might entertain something a BIT less than he is asking. If he bites, I will post here about it.

Depends on the model, a well used, run of the mill M57, that's too much.
For a NIB PC657 snubby, I would buy it at that price....
