I just traded a S&W Sigma for a Taurus 605SS last night. Today my wife sent me on a mission that happend to be right next to the range (her mistake). Prior to this I have only shot 5 .38s out of a air weight J frame and I hated it. I have had glocks as well as my combloc CZ82 and 52 so I guess I am an auto guy.
I shot 50 rounds- 10 AE 130 grain .38 FMJ, 30 rounds UMC 125 grain .38+P JHP and 10 Blazer 158 grain .357 mag JHP. I found this gun much better to shoot than that air weight. The 130 AE made me wonder if .38 had much power (box said 800 FPS). The +P made me think that these guns might have something going for them. The .357 just made me say Jesus Christ Monkey Balls!!! You dont even have to hit the target because you just set it on fire!
This was a new level of fun that I have never had with auto pistols. The Taurus gave me zero problems an all I want for it are some wood gips (you have to look good while you shoot) and maybe a bobed hammer.
All I can say is I used to make fun of the wheel gun guys but now I would like to know if we can put that in the past so I can join your crew. It was just so much fun I can not wait to shoot her again!

I always thought I was strictly a semi auto sort as well. Revolvers just looked so... so... awkward. Then I tried one and was reeled in hook, line and sinker by half way through the second cylinder worth of .38Spl. So I know how you feel.

For me it was a 4inch Model 10. It was a rental gun but I later bought a 6 inch Model 19 which is one of my two "last to go" guns in my collection.
