With a toddler and a second baby on the way, I'm going to have a kid on my hip or in the baby backpack quite often when we're out. So carrying concealed on the hip has become an issue. I was thinking of getting some kind of non-tacticool leg pouch that can hold a gun without screaming CCW. Yeah, consider moving a belt holster to a more convenient spot first.

Drop-leg holsters just don't do discreet. If the gun's not poking out from it, you'll never be able to get to it quickly.

I like to wear BDU style trousers, and it would be nice to sew one of those nylon holsters to the inside of the pocket. Wouldn't be too difficult. You would need a velco pocket flap.

Maybe attach a holster to a piece of plastic that fits into all your leg pockets.

Let the rug rat set on the gun to help support the weight.

Depends on what you're carrying. I do occasionally wear a fanny-pack when it's extremely hot outside because I EDC an SW40VE, but I'm old enough and grumpy-looking enough that no one's going to comment on it. Not the easiest thing to get a firearm out of either. It still boils down to what firearm you intend on carrying.

Fanny pak, that thing looks way too big, You can get a small fanny pack, that will take a glock sub, to a fullsize 1911, the smaller ones are small enough, but most major manufacturers make them way too large. There are usually guys at the shows that have the small ones. Otherwise, don't get one without seeing it first, or you will regret it, I have a bunch that are just too big, like wearing a suitcase.

Indeed. All my kids have ridden MANY miles sitting on a C&L 1911. :)

I've noticed "bag checkers" at certain venues don't request that you set the kid down as you pass their station, either. ... FWIW.

I've seen & considered those^ "inside/behind-the-cargo-pant-pocket" drop holsters before. I don't know the construction quality & there may be liabilities to that method of carry I haven't considered. I would be interested to hear y'all's opinion. It seems like a viable concealment method. (But so did small-of-the-back holsters...'till you get knocked down & it hits you in the SPINE!)
