OK is there a dedicated upper in 22mag? Just popped in my mind, there's about every other caliber and was about to get a 22LR bolt & carrier.

"It will be known from those on here":)

No, I've been wondering why myself for some time too.

Mostly for the same reason that you only see 2 semi-auto .22mag rifles (Volquartsen and Magnum Research) on the market. The pressure curve of the .22mag (and .17HMR) are not well suited to the standard blow-back operation used in semi-auto rimfires. The pressure spikes late, after the bolt has come out of battery, can and has blown cases in other designs. The Volquartsen and Magnum Research rifles use a spring loaded gas buffer to equalize the pressure and slightly delay the blowback.

Alexander Arms has a 17 hmr upper in production, but no 22 mag that I could find.

I would really like to have that upper!

I would be happy to see a .22mag AR, however .22mag costs a lot of money. More than a lot of people realize. I don't think it will provide much of a financial advantage over say, .223 Russian steel cased ammo.

Last time I bought .22 mag. I paid 80.00 bucks for a 500 rd. brick, that`s not bad............
