Maadi refurb

Picked up an old Maadi AK that needed some love.

Had some odd parts, goobered up front sight, bayo lugs cut off, etc. Sniffed out some parts from various sources.

I would say that the project was a success! That's a very nice looking Maadi. I think anyone would be happy to own that. It probably will mean a little more to you because of the work you put into it. Good Job!

I didn't realize there was a 'crown of upper and lower Egypt' mark on those. (That's what's around the 93 )

You beat me to it on the crown comment. I am an ancient "Egyptophile" and had never seen that mark before. Way cool.

Thanks! I am pretty happy with it. Now I gotta find an Arabic marked rear sight leaf. That will be the finishing touch. :)

Is that an INTrac KNOX TN marked MAADI? They were pumping a lot of them out back then. The price was $200 total back then.
