Unexpected, impromptu belated gift

On the 23rd, I, like an idiot, attempted a young man's game. I tried to chew a Jolly Rancher. Obviously, because it is me, it pulled off a crown nice and clean. I made an appt. to get it cemented back on for the 26th.

When I get there, the lady that cleans my teeth checked me in (and man is she hot) and asked where I had been, that she had been saving something for me and was wondering when I'd show up. Were I not married, I'd have been real excited about now.

But I am ,and not only that, she was with me... But I had asked her almost a year ago to save the dental picks. She said she threw them out, that they only last a short while, and that it always felt a shame. I told her I could use them, to save them. Last time I went, I forgot to bring it up, and so did she, but this time she handed them over. A sterile pack of about twenty different dental picks, much nicer than the ones I have been using since the army. Some with the big thick stylus.

It was really nice, to be remembered like that in these days over something so mundane and easy to forget. Small deeds for strangers go for much more than you realize, they are harder than currency in bad times. I think the next batch is going to another patient that sculpts clay, but if I get more I may hand them out on here to others. Pay it foward, that was what the lady in a hurry at the post office said when I let her cut in front of me.

BTW, if you haven't used a dental pick to clean an AR or machinegun, you haven't lived yet. They rock, nothing gets carbon and crannies like those do.

This thread could use some pictures of the lady who checked you in... and a machine gun.

Dental picks and 5.56 blanks go together like peanut butter and jelly.
