I built this one in 1972 as my first project. It is a DWM made M-98 from a Brazilian Cav-Carbine. A Douglas #5 barrel in 7x57mm, and the stock was a big wood blank from the old Herters catalog. It took me all winter and half the next summer to carve this thing down.
Then another month to get the polishing just right and then more than a couple tries to get the hot bluing to look like it should.
Hello to all, got a question, how does the boyds thumhole (the heavy style) compare to the AI stock?

I have Boyds thumbhole varmint stocks an my Remington 17 Fireball, Remington 221 Fireball and 223 Rem Howa 1500 rifles and another brand on my Ruger 10-22T rifle. I glassbedded each of the rifle stocks. If I were to restock an other varmint rifle it would be with a Boyds thumbhole stock.

I always wanted one until I tried one out. I have muscular hands with short fingers so the fit just was not there. Besides, I shoot both right and left handed....chris3
