I've only owned my S&W (pre-Model 10)vintage 1956 M/P .38 Special for a year. The blueing is about 95-98%, lock-up is tight,
hardly any "air" between cylinders/cone, shoots straight every time and just reeks of quality. Can you guess what I'm picking-up in two days? 9mm S&W Model 910s. American Owned...POST-Klinton. I'm a fan for life:D

Well I hope your new one give you the same kind of service you're getting out of the old one. Those old S&W revolvers are great guns, and yes - they usually have the kind of hand craftmanship that isin't seen too often today except in "custom shop" products.

I have a 6-inch Model 1905 M&P, made in 1919. Grand old gun.
Also have a Victory Model that has a great trigger feel to it.
I love my Smiths. :)

They used to build them to last forever. Some of the new models are really neat and light, but the old Smiths just seem to be built better.

Old guns - they've got a charm all their own and like a Timex or Everyready Bunny, they just keep going.
