Anyone seen this for the LCP (and possibly others)? It's a holster that basically does nothing except convert the LCP into a rectangular shape. It leaves the trigger open, a spot for a second finger, and allows access to the slide and magazine release.

Yes, it's a holster that does not cover the trigger guard. Anyone else see a problem here?

Wish they'd make them for every gun! LOL.. 1911 Size anybody?
Some folks are worried about the legal side of it, but I haven't followed the discussions enough to understand why.

The legal side of it is that some pocket holsters desiged to let the gun be fired without removing it from the holster are NFA-regulated "Any Other Weapons," so you REALLY don't want to have one of those.

These aren't because enough of the gun is exposed to convince the ATF Tech Branch that the gun isn't disgused as something else. Stupid, but that's how it is.

As far as safety goes? These are functionally equivalent to carrying in a pocket with no holster -- which MANY people do with their J-frams and KelTecs every day.

They'd be safer if they covered the trigger guard, but that's not the point of them.

I think the LOL tag gets overused these days, but I actually did laugh out loud the first time I saw this. I am definitely in the "trigger guard MUST be covered" camp.

LOL..... Cause ya can't see me smiling at the thought of a 1911 slide stickin out of a wallet. Hell, it did make me laugh. I may have peed myself a little too, not quite sure......


The ones I've seen have a hole where the trigger is, but you wouldn't be able to pull the trigger unless you stuck yer finger in the hole. If you have nothing else in yer pocket (to get caught in the hole), the trigger can't be pulled. It seems pretty safe to me, but I'm not a fan of the LCP. Can't hang on to it when it goes BANG.
