i found some at my local range thought it was kind of strange. i thought about maybe reloading the neck is quite stiff any idea what these were intened for ?

They've been out for several years. I've seen them at the SHOT Show for about the last 5 years at least. I've got a box of them down in my shop. I'll go look at the label later on and give you the brand name.

I don't believe I'd reload them, as neck tension may be problematic the second time around.

They came in a lot of different colors, each color was a different load. They also came in .308.

I shot some of the box in the pic., it was horrible as far as accuracy goes. They can be reloaded, but the neck tension is non-existent. So it would work in a single shot.

The bullet was cast into the neck, then the round was assembled. The whole idea was to save weight.

They're no longer being made. The army did NOT bite on the concept, and commercial buyers didn't pan out.

I had almost 1000 rounds of this stuff given to me, it doesn't run in an AR very well (between myself and the guy that gave it to me, we tried 8 different ones). Runs fine in a Contender.
