N Frame time....

I never thought I liked N Frames til I handled this one. 1966 S&W 27-2 8 3/8 barrel you could almost dive into the blueing is so great. The lockup is wonderful and the trigger is while not as smooth as my 13 will get there.

Yep the 5 screws from the 50s are pretty nice, but I am very fond of the registered on the bottom!

Perfessr - Did you just adopt it?
If so - congratulations!

N Frame Model 27-2. Yes, I do indeed own one. As it turns out the previous owner had the trigger worked on and it is as smooth as glass. It is a honey of a shooter and I well may buy a companion for the present one if I find a suitable candidate.

Oh great!
Just what we need.
Perfessr likes N-frames.
Now there'll be yet another person to worry about scarfing up all of the good ones. :neener:
Seriously, once you get a good N-frame you'll never be the same. Especially once you've experienced the joys of those calibers that start with .4 :D

My 27-2 4inch has the nicest trigger of all my N-frames, even my 38/44 Outdoorsman which has 50 years of use on it to help smooth out it's trigger(atleast 8k rounds of which I can account for).
My little 27 just flippin is slic as can be and surprisingly light, so smooth I don't shoot it single action but prefer to shoot it double action. LOVE IT!
Here is how my modest collection has grown,

Pictures of 1950 target model 44Specials make my blood boil while green with envy. As a California resident I am in a depressed slump wondering how long it will be before I manage to get my hands on such a gun. My 38/44 Outdoorsman needs siblings damn it! A pre-27 5screw and a 1950s Target Model 44Spl along with a 1950s Target Model 45ACP will round out the collection nicely.

Peter ..... your pic is great but hey ... this humble dial up man here needs a tad smaller .. please!!:)
My love .. the M27-2 5" .... what a dream ... very smooth.

And more recent .. bought from a member here .. M28-2 4" .. and only just fitted the CT grips ... awesome combination. This one has also been nicely smithed ... butter D/A, bobbed hammer and chamfered rear chambers. Have a nice holster for this . and it sits well at 3.30 OWB.

I love these "outdated" N frames! The N frame is by far my favorite S&W (I still prefer Colt, however).

My scanner doesn't do them justice. One SW 27-2 with pinned barrel and recessed cylinder. One SW 27-5. Both 5" barrels.
