Anyone carrying a SIG your pocket?

It's almost identical in size to the Bersa Thunder 380 that I've pocket carried before. But the SIG is heavy--heavier than the Glock 26 I've also pocket carried. The SIG is flatter than the Glock and that's a plus.

I've pocket carried S&W 442/642 revolvers more often than anything else but my accuracy is weak past 20 feet. I can shoot autos better than revolvers.

Has anyone tried the P239 in a pocket?

Sure as soon as I buy Filson "tin cloth" coat with huge pockets.

No...the point is that the P239 is the same size as the Bersa Thunder 380. That's small.

It's the weight that concerns me.

(By the way, I wear Tru-Spec cargo pants most of the time. Big and deep pockets there.

Too heavy for me. I carry mine IWB or OWB on a good belt. Love the gun though.

I use an IWB CrossBreed Supertuck holster with my P239. It's an excellent carry gun, but its weight demands a holster IMHO.

Having gotten lazy about carrying the 239 in certain situations, I finally picked up the .380 P238 SAS. It is a great pocket gun that's easy to shoot and fun enough to see serious range time. I never thought I would own a pocket gun, but I'm a Sig junkie and couldn't resist.

With either of these guns, I highly recommend the Hogue grips. Not nearly as nice looking as the factory wood grips, but no comparison for comfort and control.

I saw the P238 at the local shop and stared at it forever!! Loved the feel and ergonomics of the pistol. They have a variety of combinations as far as slides and grips. I did have the opportunity to fire about 20 rounds with one however. I was NOT really that impressed with the accuracy of the gun however. I was kind of shocked at how horribly the rounds grouped...for me. I ain't a bad all! Heck..I even impress myself at times..but I could not get this little boogar to shoot within a 3 inch group..even at the nominal distance of 15 feet. I did only shoot 10 rounds at that maybe with time behind the trigger, I could do better, but my first experience wasn't mind blowing.

SIG 238 is a pretty little gun. Apparently very popular. But it's too like the 1911 design. Not for me--I'm not a fan of SAO autoloaders.

Way too heavy for pocket carry in my book. Also I would never carry condition one in the pocket, but that's just me. Needs to be on a belt and carried condition one.

My P229 carries in my Galco Summer comfort IWB holster comfortably enough with the right belt and t-shirt. I would think the 239 (not to be confused with the 238) would carry even better in the same setup.

For a short time and distance, you could certainly stick it in your pocket. For practical, continuous pocket carry, much too large, IMO. In addition to the overall size and weight, the slide is much "blockier" and wider than the Bersa .380. Again IMO, a gun the size of a Kahr PM or the new CM9, or a small-frame, lightweight snubnose revolver, is about the maximum practical for pockets.

The Sig 239 is too large for pocket carry.

I carry mine in an Alessi Talon IWB holster and I'm very happy with that setup.
