Good looking rifle. Not sure I understand the scope base. I'm guessing it allows for some extra elevation?

Well he could be going improved ergonomics for offhand silhouette shooting, or its doing double duty with another rifle.

the base is adjustable, it will be topped off with a vortex 6-24x50mm and the lowest rings that will work. just waiting for the brown man to bring it...

Bad project for a nice rifle, scope is set way to high.

it will be topped off with a vortex 6-24x50mm and the lowest rings that will work, that scope and base are off my cz 452 scout. I was doing some work on the scout so I had the scope and base off of it so i slid it on the Style and took a pic.

Here is my recent 452 project:

http://www.mindspring.com/~abodom/sil.JPG

I modified it to shoot silhouette. The stock has been deepened, lengthened, grip lengthened and straightened, cheekpiece built up and that ugly knot on the end of the stock ground off. Balsa wood, fiberglass and bondo was used.

The trigger has a Yodave kit set at two pounds and one ounce.

The action is fully bedded with a pillar under the middle action screw. The front screw is not used.

Scope is a Sightron silhouette model with BLK rings.

I have a 452 Silhouette (same rifle with black barrel) that wears a Mueller Eraticator scope.

Took the gun out today. only shot at 100 yards, I shot CCI SV and Fed Gold, and Fed bulk from walmart threw it.

This was the group of the day, 6 shots at 100 yards, prone with bipod and rear bag. guess wich ammo was used for this group

It could be any of them. Each .22 has it's own unique preferences for ammo.

I have a CZ 452 Lux that loves Federal bulk pac.

You've got a keeper then. A rifle that shoots cheap ammo well is special.

Do yourself a favor and invest in better ammo. My Silhouette shoots 1.5-inch groups at 100 yards with Wolf Match ammo. Keep in mind that every gun is different, and will prefer a different ammo.

Also, before shooting for groups, shoot at least 25 rounds of the ammo being tested through the gun. The reason is that each ammo manufacturer uses different lubricants (even between different models from the same manufacturer) and the barrel needs to be seasoned to the lubricant before any real indication of accuracy can be assessed.

You'll probably have to mail-order the more accurate ammo, but believe me - it's worth it if you're going to compete in Silhouette competition or are simply interested in how accurate your rifle really is.
