Do you think it will work with 25 round magazines.

The BX-25 magazine will work in all vintages of Ruger 10/22 and SR-22 rifles, as well as all Ruger Charger™ pistols.

77/22 isn't mentioned.

I have a 77/17HMR, and that magazine fits a variety of Ruger rifles. Except the 10/22 isn't listed, and neither is the 77/22.

Different part numbers for standard 10rd magazines, so I'm guessing there is some small difference that keeps them from being interchangeable.

Maybe someone happens to own both and can provide a definite answer?

No i won't . Same mags as used in the lever rifle but not the 10/series.

I have a 77/22 and occasionally use an old Butler Creek 25 round magazine with it. Not the best fit, but it works. The mag is probably twenty years old, so I don't know if it is the same as what you are looking at. More than anything, it ruins the handling of the rifle. Buy a couple of extra 10 rounders and call it good.

I
used one of the new 25 rounders in any/all of my 3 M77/22's
and they have worked perfectly......25 rounds out of a bolt gun is a lot of shooting....:)

The BX-25 magazine works fine in my 77/22. The difference in the 10/22 & the 77/22 10 rd. magazines is the bottom is rounded on the 10/22 & flat on the 77/22. The standard 10 round 10/22 magazine also works in the 77/22.
