I've been using unique loading pistol ammo. Any thing meter better?

Does anyone know of a pistol powders that measure worse? :)

If you want similar performance, check your reloading guides and a burn chart.

Ramshot True Blue and Silhouette excel in the .40 S&W. True Blue is more of a Universal type powder and it is a ball powder that meters like fine sand. ;)

231 for the 135 grain, and lighter loads of the 155's.

Ramshot silhouette for medium to hot 155's.

Hodgdon's universal is very close to Unique in burn rate and velocity. Some say it burns cleaner also. It is a very good choice for the 180 grain bullets. Universal is a smaller flake so it should meter better than Unique.

Winchester Auto Comp may be worth your consideration with a 155 grain bullet. Auto Comp is faster burning but not as fast as titegroup, Clays, or Bullseye. Should definitely meter better than Unique.

I also agree with Silhouette as a suggestion for any high pressure, semi- auto cartridge.

Not much better out there....the stuff meters like a dream for me....from my brothers RCBS progressive to my Dillon and RCBS uniflow I've never had one problem. I'm glad all 3 powder measures that I've used it in have worked flawlessly.

I think the flash bang effect of Power Pistol is something you have to live with if you want to partake of the accuracy potential of the powder. Just wear earplugs and your hearing muffs. Don't open your mouth when you fire and plug up your nose. Get some real dark sun glassess...

ANY other powder.

I much prefer Bullseye, and still like Red Dot. Unique just does NOT work for me.

Flash bang...I like that. They should just call PP "flashbang" instead. I seriously think I'm going to start writing that down under powder on my load labels.

I have only had one powder measure. The Lyman 55. I have used Unique for many years. I have no problem at all throwing consistent charges. Beats me why so many say Unique won't meter.

Try Universal.

Unique the four pound jug I have is running through both my Dillon measures with no problems and very good consistency. It did meter inconsistantly from my Hornady measure, but I fixed that by replacing it with a Dillon measure.

You know though, I have a bottle of Universal clays and I am going to try some .45 acp 200 LSWC loads with it.

While i usually prefer unique Accurate #5 is the next best thing and meters like liquid.

I use a lot of Unique but it just does not meter well in my Uniflow with charges below 6.0gr. At which point Titegroup takes over.

Have started using a good bit of 231. Meters well and fires nicely. Did use about 6#s of Unique last year also.
