Cap Savers

Does anyone use cap savers? I'm talking about those little rubber rings that hold the cap to the nipple. My inline has a bad habbit of shedding nipples unless I dent them.

How are they best applied? Do you put the cap in the ring and then slip it on? Does anyone have a pic of this?

One more question. Can they be used on a revolver?

Thanks in advance,

TerryBob

You got it................ put on the cap and then slip the little ring over the cap & nipple junction.

They will work on revolvers too.

But................. they make a real mess when the cap is ignited. :( Be prepared to spend a few minutes scraping melted plastic off of the nipple after each shot. And that's X6 for each cylinder when used on the revolvers. I tried this once...............that was enough to convince me that these were ONLY for wet weather use.

Speaking of caps, I just submitted an article to MuzzleLoader about hunting with a blackpowder ML in China. The fellow who told me the story showed me pictures of how one local improvises caps and other accoutrements.
