After reading a post about choosing a handgun/rifle combination using the same cartridge, I got to thinking about how far this idea could go. Let me say I consider this a trivia game, and not a good way to design your collections.

In .22lr or .22wmr, you can find pistol, SA revolver, DA revolver in hand guns, and bolt, lever, semi-auto, and revolver (Circuit Judge) in long guns.

I don't know enough about them to talk about single shots.

What's the best you can do with centerfire? There are unusual possibilities out there such as Ruger Blackhawks in 9mm and 45 ACP.

38 Special can be used in lever, single shot, revolver and semi autos, off the top of my head.

Let's not forget the pump rifles in assorted pistol cartridges: .22 s/l/lr, .38 SPL/.357 MAG, .45 Colt, etc as well as quite a few rifle cartridges.

Also, don't forget the over/under derringer style pistols in a wide variety of calibers from .22 rimfire to, what, .45-70?

.30-30 has been available in lever, bolt , pump, and single-shot rifles, as well as single-shot pistols, over/under derringers, and revolvers. I haven't seen an autoloader in .30-30, but wouldn't doubt that someone has tried.

.30 Carbine: Single shot rifle and pistol, semiauto rifle and pistol, lever action rifle, revolver, derringer ... Can't find a bolt action, though, unless you count custom built or modified rifles.

38/357 is chambered in SA revolvers, DA revolvers, semi-auto, derringers, and single shot pistols. It has been chambered in bolts, levers, pump, single shot and Savage even did some combo guns with a 357 over a shotgun bbl. I've also seen a m1 carbine converted to 357.
