I think Dolf is the coolest "oldtimer" gun guy I've met yet - he's very in tune with current trends, and not a crotchety old hoarder, like some people become. I got to talk to him at the big show in Phoenix last month, and we did an on-camera interview as well:

Later (off camera), I heard some great stories about incidents like converting an aircraft Vickers gun to .45-70, and spending a day blowing up trees in upstate NY with a 40mm Bofors gun back in the 50s.

Apparently, a 10-round mag dump from a Lahti in the snow will push you back about 6 feet. :p

Dolf is "our" (the shooting community) national treasure.

I have been lucky enough to enjoy great conversations with him at Knob Creek. Always a new story and loads of priceless information.
