Looking to purchase wooded land to put a cabin on, hunt in season, shoot year round etc. somewhere in Northwest Pennslyvania.
Any idea what the minimum amount of land would be? 50 acres?
Any suggestions as to a hunter friendly area?
Anything to look out for?
Any web resources other than the state game site?
Thanks . . . .

A place you can check....

They have a message forum similar to this one, with a classified section. Mostly Pennsylvania based.

Don't know about the northwest.....I'm in the northeast.
Might be some good land out there. As far as shooting year round, make sure you check the local ordinances. Some may restrict you from firing weapons within the town/borough/city limits.
The more rural you go, the better chance you'll have of avoiding this.

Actually I think I mistyped up above - should read northeast corner of the state.
I have been looking in Pike and Wayne county - seems like there is some land available, few 80 and 100 acre listings out there.
Someone from packing.org said the only regulation is in the Game code - no firing within 150 yards of any structure not on your property which should be doable within 50 acres.
