Why can't we do the same to judges?

I read that the man who kidnapped and murdered the girl in FL was supposed to be in prison. Some of his friends even called his parole officer and tried to get him back in the slammer!

IMO, the legal system needs to share blame for this incident.

Why can't we hold judges legally responsible for poor decisions such as this one?

Because it is the judges that decide what is legal and what is illegal. :)

Because lawyers go after doctors in malpractice. Try to find a lawyer to go after a judge, who was probably a lawyer. I know, I know stereotyping but with a large dose of truth.

My lawyer tells me judges are ex lawyers who could not make it in the profession. Nah, no chip on his shoulder:neener:

Because taking judges to court would be like leaving foxes to guard the henhouse...:banghead:

Personally, I'd prefer using some of the old witch trial methods to decide judicial malpractice....

"If they sink, they must be innocent"....

We can't go after judges as they don't get to make autonomous decisions. They are more of a referee in a battle between two legal fighters. The judge doesn't get to award points to the fighter for punches he didn't throw.

Besides, from what I have read, the issue wasn't with the judge. I think you have mixed terminology, suggesting judges be able to be sued and then pointing out that the problems were at the parole level, maybe even the parole board who establish the conditions of parole.

By the way, judges often have to rule in favor of arguments they don't agree with. Judges often have to let folks go because the prosecution did a poor job or because the evidence simply was not present to justify a more harsh sentence.
