Deer season closed here in Sweet Home Alabama last weekend. It was not the best I've ever seen. Not really bad just unusually mediocre.
Still got a couple weeks for quail, squirrel, etc. , then I guess we'll just have to get serious 'bout HOGS!

Today's paper had an article where a 14 year old shot a 13 pt. buck on the last day with a crossbow. The unofficial rack measurement is just over 175. He missed it four days earlier. Returned to the same stand and finally got him. I was lucky during gun season this year, but I'm ready to shoot some varmint 'hogs myself. I'm sure you'll be out before I will. Since the the lousy cold weather we have here in Ohio dictates when they pop out of there hole. Good luck 'bama.

We have non-indigenous hogs in Western Washington. The game dept. doesnt want them around (good luck now that they are established). No season, no limit.:neener:

The deer season where I hunt closed on JAN. 1 but I am already looking forward to the 2004 season. 2003 was one of the best seasons (five deer- one of them a big eight point)I have had in a long time. That deer meat has tasted good on those cold winter days. I guess I'll do some crow and varmit hunting to get me through the spring and summer.

The deer hunting here in N. Alabama was okay, but not spectacular.
Gonna go down into the 'cove and get some squirrels this weekend, and as much as possible 'till the end of February, then it's time to go after the varmints and do some fishing.
