Tax returns are in, and unlike most years I'd like to save most of this one instead of blowing it like usual. For that reason I've limited myself to around or as close to $400 as possible for a red dot for my AR. I've found an Eotech 512 for about $340 locally and was going to get that until I found out about the Aimpoint PRO, which is just a few bucks more BUT is apparently restricted to LEO and military sales only. It is my understanding that this was not always the case, which leaves me kinda miffed at the lost opportunity.
That is unless anyone actually ENFORCES that policy. Anyone know a place that will sell without scrutiny?
One can be had at LA police gear for only $380 or so, and they don't look to interested in playing detective.

Allegedy the Aimpoint restriction policy for resellers is because they wanted to target a lower price point at LEO's. (no pun intended)
Various threads on the reasoning elsewhere.

Perfectly legal for you to own one, and most resellers aren't requiring you to email or fax a scan of your LE credentials. Most of them don't care. Kinda like ammo that has packaging marked LE only.

If anyone has a confirmed place where the policy isn't enforced please do post or PM me.

Picked mine up at my local streichers store, and I am not LE. No hassle what so ever.
