Latajang?

Supposedly it's a pole-arm, about 3' total, with crescent-shaped blades (concave side out) on both ends, and triangular blades facing backwards, one on each side of the pole/handle on the convex side of the blade. The entire blade is about 10" wide, with the triangular rear spikes being maybe 1.5" per side.

Does anyone know of any person or company that makes these things? Can anyone confirm they really exist(ed)? I would have assumed they were created for Alias, but found this... http://lists.travellerrpg.com/pipermail/tml/2003-September/184524.html

Is the word "latajang" a poor transliteration? Is it commonly spelled some other way, and is that why searches for "latajang" turn up next to nothing? Or is it simply never referenced in the english language?

I seem to remember somewhere in the deep, dusty vaults of my mind that there was a Chinese/Indonesian polarm called a lajatang that matches your description.

A 'Google' search reveals that the lajatang has a cult following amongst the computerized AD&D guys, so I don't know if I'm remembering an actual weapon, or if I'm remembering something from a brief foray into the RPG worlds.

It's highly likely the Alias script goons transposed the letters. :uhg: It does look like yours is the correct spelling.

Danmed VT can't get anything rihgt.
