First post here. I did do a search, but i couldnt find my answer and looked all over google and Youtube. I'm sure the answer is out there, but i just can seem to find it. I purchased a new Browning X-bolt .308 Stainless Stalker for upcoming deer season. I would like to take the stock off and thoroughly clean the factory rust preventer off. I'd also like to take the bolt apart and clean the firing pin and spring. I can already tell that the factory oil like to attract lots of dirt. there are two allen screws at the back of the bolt and 2 roll pins (off the top of my head) at the front. I dont want to just take out the allen screws and not be able to get everything back together right. any tips, blow ups, walk throughs, videos, out there on this?

Thanks

You don't mess with the screws or roll pins on the bolt shroud. The firing pin/mainspring/bolt shroud unscrews from the bolt body. That's all required or recommended for cleaning. You need to depress the striker on the bottom of the bolt shroud as you unscrew it from the body. I use the corner of a wood work bench to hook the striker on and push hard to depress the spring. It's the same concept as a Rem 700 which I'm sure you can find a youtube video of.

The barreled action is pretty self explanatory with the two allen action screws through the trigger gaurd.
