Kentucky, heard you are not feeling good. I know I have been having cabin fever up here in Michigan,we have about a foot and a half of snow on the ground, and seems like we haven't seen the sun in a Month! I am thinking about going to a little gun show in Holland, Michigan to perk up! Hope you are feeling better...

I AM sick, but that is not the reason I've logged out. I can not just sit by and watch *some people stomp "potholes" in what used to be a very "High Road" indeed. Several people know the truth and the heart of the matter. Other people will NEVER realize the harm they do. I just can't watch such a fine road...such a High Road, be used as a place, not for discussion--but for the showcasing of what SOME people consider wit. They fall sadly short in that department and I'm embarrassed for them. High post counts are really just high REPLY counts. Just people waiting, watching, and WANTING to start an argument. I never understood, for the life of me, how somebody could get their "jollies" from attempting to embarrass someone else. ~Look at "Lost Dogs" RBCD post. In the first line that he wrote, he asked that arguments not be started. How many replies did it take for SOMEONE-and you know who you are-to try and start up discourse?
Now everybody knows why I've not been posting.

Will of Kentucky,

Glad to hear from you.

Yes, there will always be those who litter the High Road rather than build it,
and even our best roadbuilders can slip up, too.

Rather than retreat in disgust, and thereby weaken our best efforts, why,
you could literally stay on the high road.

Yours truly,
Horge of the Philippine Islands

Hi Will,

I too have felt that some areas on the board are not good places to visit anymore and I almost stopped coming back altogether.

I made some comments on a thread about some guy driving through Ohio with guns in plain sight that got busted on a "Legal & Political" thread and was called a "Coward and an Yes man" by the person I responded to because I suggested the person should have known the laws in the state he was driving through, whether they agree with the laws or not. Perhaps that person viewed my comments as a personal affront but I thought the person's reply to me went way over the line. There was a response to my complaint on the thread from the Mods but no PM from the person or the Mods. When I offend someone, or it is pointed out that my post was offensive, I will PM that person and the Mods and apologize. By no means do I hold myself blameless in that exchange. I do think it could have been handled better by the Mods and the person offering up the insults.

I think the person you refer to in the "Lostdogs" (not "Lostdogs") post replied to me on one post that the "sissification of America is now complete" when I said cocked and locked carry was not for me. Did he call me a sissy? I don't know and I don't really care. I felt insulted and I think that was the intent. I didn't reply back.

Lately, I try to limit myself to the technical sections of Autoloaders, Revolvers and Rifles. I have found some really intelligent people on these issuses and this makes it worth my while.

Hope you are feeling better. I understand your problems with some aspects of this board. Seems to me TFL had their share of this too. I hope none of my posts have added to your disgust. Certainly not intended if they did.

KR - While I've not necessarily followed any of the specific conflicts mentioned, I hear where ya are coming from. It IS difficult sometimes to endure some posts, especially when not feeling well.

' writing here to primarily to say I'm glad to see that you are at least semi-OK. Best Regards - and 'hope ya can get more perky soon! Greybeard

KR, as you and I have discussed, there are all types of folk here. This place is big enough for you to pick and choose who you associate with. Some folks (including me at times) get a little snippy, and you jsut have to let them (us) go. At the same time we all try to moderte each other. Stay and lend your hand...you are part of this High Road.

Some are destined to lead.
Some are destined to follow.
Some are destined to stand and direct traffic.
And then there are those that are just human speed bumps.

Kentucky Rifle, we need every voice of logic and reason we can muster.
98.4% of the time I agree with what you say.
100% of the time I respect what you say.
And I have forgotten what the other 1.6% was about anyway.

Glad to see you back.
As some famous guy once said, "Don't let the bastards wear you down."
