Anybody have one of these? I'm looking at one on calguns $350 with 180 rounds of ammo.

Don't have one but have seen reviews, and they seem to be an updated M94 Win that functions very well. They're scope ready and decently accurate, and if the ammo is factory, you're getting the rifle for like $250, which sounds good if it's in good condition.

I have sold a few of them. The build quality is impressive. They put the recent Marlins, and last of the M94's to shame. The Walnut stocked models I have seen have had very nice wood, but the cheaper hardwood version looks about like a Mossberg 500 stock.

I don't own one, yet! But I've handled several in the gun shops, and shot one at a range (owned by another levergun nut). Well made, feels solid when working the lever, and plenty accurate. I'm looking forward to a stainless one someday.

Seen good range reports on them, not that anyone needs a sub-moa 30-30, but heck why not :) Being at the same price point I would pick the Mossberg over the Marlin since Remington bought them out. :barf:

Thanks all soon as he answers my PM I'm going to buy it, plus I have a spare Marlin in 30-30 that I would like to convert to 38-55.

I have to disagree with the comparison to the 336. From what I have handled the Mossy 30-30 is a poorly made lever action rifle.

Poof missed it.

I own one and am very happy with it. I'll disagree that it is poorly made. I am very happy with all aspects of it. I agree that the snobs have no use for it. Too bad, they are missing out on a nice gun.

The ones I've looked at/handled felt a bit clunky. Too heavy for what it is, not especially better than the M94 in "rattles" category.
Sorry, but even a new M336 with birch stock I handled at WallyWorld was better finished, fit, and felt much better. A little bit more money, and worth it.
Sorry, but I feel the Mossberg missed the mark. Too much metal in reciever, too much weight, and makes gun feel "clunky". FWIW I like the Rossi better (marlin me-too), but not that I "like" either.

My 6 Marlins and 1 Winchester keep me from liking the Mossy.
