I have a camo synthetic 12ga Beretta 391 Urika2. it is about 3 years old an has several chipped spots along the barrel from use etc.(bumping on boat gunnels, and goose pits) these chipped spots are about the size of #2 shot give or take a little. I have not noticed any rust on these spots.I mostly hunt is a freshwater area. I would like to touch them up.

i was thinking of dabbing the spots with an appropriate paint or finish with a small artist paint brush--what would be the best choice to use for this?

I know i am not the only person with this problem!!

Any suggestions as i am all ears???

Thats what I do on my one and only camo gun. My paint job was pretty chaotic anyway, so a little more chaos only adds to the flavor. It helps if you still have the paints you originally used.

If it stops looking the way I wanted, I'll strip it down and start again.

I imagine they are dipped at the factory.

I would visit a local hobby shop and check out the little bottles of Testers Model Enamel.

You will be able to find a nearly exact match in the military colors.

Krylon has a Camo line that is a dull matte available at most WalMart stores. I would mask the area with blue painters tape and give it a spritz with an appropriate color. After it's dry, I use a matte/dull clear coat. Hope that helps. Here's an rifle I did with Krylon Camo.
