Hey guys! Just got a Model 111 in 7mm Rem Mag at a gun show for less than $400. Left handed and a great looking laminated stock with Accutrigger! Never had a Savage rifle. Wandering what you guys think about these guns! Looking forward to your views!

I own nothing but Savage in bolt rifles including a left-handed 111. Chances are very good to excellent that it will shoot superbly unless it was messed up by the previous owner. Great rifle and assuming that it's in good condition, it sounds like you got a great deal.

+1 helotaxi. 7mm mag is a bit much for me, but the gun should be just fine.

Your shoulder will be thanking you for the added weight of the laminated stock with 7mm mag :D

I own several Savages and every single one of them are fantastic shooters. A few do have Hart barrels but the original barrels were shot out or I just wanted an oddball cartridge and found a Savage action cheap to build off of. Over the years, out of MANY new Savages I have bought, only a couple had any problems whatsoever which were promptly solved by their wonderful customer service.

If you do find yourself wanting anything "extra" or "custom" done to it at a very reasonable price, give Scott Null a buzz here http://www.savagegunsmithing.com/index.html . They do some very fine work on Savages.

Good score! I've got a 7 mag also and it's just a nasty, nasty round. 100 gr hollow points for coyotes? Forget about it!!!

I have one in .30-06, it shoots great. I really need to spend some time figuring what the perfect ammo/load is for it, but with off the shelf hunting ammo, I've been able to get 2 out of 3 holes to overlap on several occasions using a Burris 3-9x40 FFII. If you are hunting, it works great.

Went out and shot it! I am officially a Savage Kool-Aid drinker! Factory ammo and this baby is shooting 1/2 groups! Awesome!

Been drinking that Kool-aid for many years now :D I have owned accurate rifles in other brands, but every Savage I have ever shot was top shelf accuracy. 7mm Rem Mag is a kick butt round, I have owned several over the years. Sure they have a healthy kick but they hit hard on both ends.
