Trigger mods on striker fired pistols

Is this possible, practical and done by most competent gunsmiths? The Kahr handguns I own really need trigger work. I e-mailed Kahr and got the CYA lawyer response about safety, and no they don't recommend, wouldn't give me the name of a gunsmith or no they don't do custom work.

Sure it is. Cylinder & Slide, for one, works on Kahrs. http://cylinder-slide.com

What is wrong with your Kahr triggers? They make some of the smoothest double action triggers in the world.

Smooth yes, but unlike my Glock and Springfield .40, there is little feedback of the point where the striker releases and it pulls to hard for my tastes. My only other squawk about Kahrs is I can't field strip them without something to pry or tap the slide pin out. All of my squawks relate to older, somewhat arthritic fingers.

There aren't a lot of pistols who's DAO trigger stroke is lighter than that on a Kahr.
I'll also observe that when I had my Kahr CW9 trigger smoothed, not lightened, that the objective was to remove any feedback of when it was about to release the striker. I just wanted a very smooth stroke that rolled through to the letoff point...it makes shooting quickly and accurately easier

I had C&S do some work on my PM45 and the trigger is incredible. But like others have said the Kahr triggers are pretty good to begin with. If you don't like it factory I don't know what you want it to be like. Every Kahr trigger i have ever felt was superior to any Glock or XD trigger I've ever felt, but that is a subjective opinion I suppose.
Anyway, I would also reccomend C&S. It's a long wait but it's worth it, IMO.

The trigger job may lighten the pull a little, but the lack of "feedback" is a characteristic of the design. I doubt if the work is going to give you what you seek.

True. the Kahr trigger is designed to simulate a DAO revolver with no "stacking".

...and I'd consider that about idea for accurate shooting

I tend to be a bit shaky of hand and if going for accuracy do a slow pull until I feel the point where the striker is to release. Then it's more of a snap pull. I use my index finger of my non-dominate hand to compensate for the jerk. Not the best, I know for someone with a steady hand but of all the methods I've tried, works the best for me. I suppose analogous to what you get with a revolver used single action.
