I got an email solicitation from the NRA today for their ArmsCare Plus insurance program. I got to thinking about it today (spring time is our homeowners renewal time) and for that kind of coverage for $50, it appears to be a good deal.

I searched here and i found several old threads on ArmsCare plus - most recent a 2009 thread. Several folks said they have it, but I didn't see anyone with a post of how their claim was handled. While I am glad ot hear no one had to use it (as of then) I wonder if anyone has in the past few years.

Any new comments on ArmsCare Plus? How was your claim handled? Did they pay off like the ad sounds like they will?

Check out these guys, their premiums were lower than the NRA program last I checked and they cover more collectibles than just firearms:

Thank you for your post and question about the NRA Endorsed Insurance program. While we hope other customers will make a post about their insurance claim experience, we thought we’d share a few pieces of helpful information regarding claims for those considering a firearm insurance product.

With regard to claims, our processing takes approximately 3 business days. Claims are reviewed with settlements satisfied and paid based on the terms of the individual policy.

As a member of the NRA, you are entitled to a no cost NRA member benefit which has recently increased to $2,500.00. This coverage protects your firearms from theft, damage or loss. Your previous $1,000.00 of coverage is no longer active. You must activate your $2,500.00 in coverage. Visit http://www.nraendorsedinsurance.com/ to activate your coverage today.

It’s important to evaluate your homeowners policy as some might not cover mysterious disappearance, damage to a gun that’s dropped, theft from a vehicle, or even provide coverage if your gun is not on your property. Our program covers all these situations and more. Homeowners insurance might require serial numbers for scheduled firearms -- our program does not. Insured homeowners policies can have high deductibles -- our program deductible is $100.00. Lastly, homeowners policies may have limits which we find are usually not discovered until the insured attempts to file a claim.
