Very good deal.
I sold a S&W 4506-1 recently to fund another purchase (of something I wanted more), and despite that, I was really torn.
The S&W 4506-1 is one of the better .45s I've owned: accurate, typically well-finished, reliable, and easy to carry. I think it's a far-better gun than the one you traded, and that Star was no slouch. You picked up an extra round of a larger caliber, and it's probably no heavier.

I think you did quite well. Gotta love those 3rd gen Smiths. I have 3, and don't see myself selling any of them anytime soon.

one thing i was wondering.when fireing it,just before the triger breaks you can hear and feel a click.is that normal in the 4506-1?

The -1 is actually a 10mm frame and (with modification) slide, so it should be, shall we say, amply strong for .45 Auto. :)
