I have a rifle that is a family airloom that needs to be reblued. Cold blue wont cut it, it is a polished blue not something that was bead blasted.

Any recommendations on a good shop that can do this, I am willing to ship the gun if need be. Im looking for a full reblue of the action and the barrel.

Since you don't say where you live, or what kind of gun it is?
I can't begin to guess at a local shop, or speciality shop for your brand of gun.

But this company is about as good as it gets.

Understand that these days you can get GOOD gun bluing or you can get CHEAP gun bluing, but you can't get both.

98% of a good blue job is all in the polishing done before the gun is put into the bluing tanks.
Few local gunsmiths do bluing these days due to the EPA regs, and the danger of the hot caustic chemicals.
Those who do don't do enough of it to keep their polishing skills up. As a result, too many part time bluers butcher the gun by polishing off stamps, rounding sharp corners and edges, and leaving ripples in the flats.

With that in mind, if you want it done right, send it out to one of the professional gun re-finisher services.
These people spend 8 hours a day polishing metal and bluing guns.

As listed above, Ford's is very good as are the following:

Remember, cheap or good...... choose ONE.

At a shop I once worked at, the boss gave the polishing jobs to an enthusiastic but not very skilled employee I shall call "Joe." The rest of us had a standing joke - "Lean harder on the wheel, Joe, there are still some markings left on that gun."

The really weird part was that we had almost no complaints as long as the blue was shiny.
