I bought this rifle new which was bedded from factory. I have to really work at it to remove the barreled action from the stock. Using a rocking motion pulling up on barrel and tang back and forth is the only way to get the barreled action out of the stock. Is this normal? does anyone else have this rifle and removed theirs and have noticed it to fit this tight? It seems like the action is being squeezed by both sides of the stock. So, I can't help but to think this is creating stress on the action and effecting the accuracy to some degree any thoughts? Thanks! :)

How well does it shoot?

Stress in the action is more from a fore/aft mismatch of receiver and bedding. I lot of guy strive to get an action that fits tightly to the bedding. If the action rocks on the bedding that is an indication something is not sitting evenly. Having to rock the action to remove it is not what I am referring to. Tightening the action screws should not want to bend the action. The only thing is the lug should have clearance on the front, bottom & sides. That is the generally accepted way for bolt actions.

That's exactly how a properly bedded action will be. You have a great rifle there. Mine shoots 3/4" groups with several factory loads and half inch or a bit better with hand loads.

you don't need to to take a bolt rifle out of the stock very often if at all. Sounds like you lucked out to me. Most folks glass bed to get a nice tight fit.

I just removed the barreled action to install a lighter trigger spring. Thanks for all the replies! :)

What grain bullets are you getting those groups with? So far all I have shot has been 150gr. factory and tried one 150gr. hand load so far. Three shot groups were either barely over/under 1" ctc. I plan to try some 165-168gr. hand loads and see if I can come up with a load that will shrink the groups a little. I haven't really shot the gun much yet and not at all since changing to a lighter trigger spring. It's at a (safe) crisp 2 pound pull weight now.
