What's the interchangeability between them? Barrels, mags, springs, etc?

You can interchange magazines, and I believe all internal parts except for the recoil spring and barrel. I don't believe either of those will fit.

Different
Magazines (G17 mags will fit in a G19, but not the other way around)
Recoil Spring & guide rod assembly
Barrel
Slide
Frame

The same
Everything else

Most parts in Gen 1-3 guns are interchangable between generations. Some parts are interchangable between Gen 1-3 & Gen 4, but I don't know the differences well enough to list them off the top of my head.

It's also worth noting that the G26 and G34 share most of their internal parts with the G17 and G19, and that there are only minor additional differences between the 9mm's and their .40 S&W and .357 Sig counterparts (i.e., you can install a G17 smooth trigger & G34 4.5# connector into a G27 and it'll run just fine).

It might fit, but it won't work....they have different lugs.

Is that so? I'll admit I've never actually tried it, as I don't own a G19. Learn something new every day...

My understanding is the 17 and 34 have the same lugs

The 19 and the 26 have the same lugs, but different from those above.

Does that relation hold true with the .40's as well? (i.e. 22/35, 23/27)

I don't think that is what HOOfan_1 was indicating with his post. I believe he said it won't work.

Right, apparently that was my mistake. The G17 barrel does not fit the G19. If you want an extended barrel in your G19, you'll have to go aftermarket (Storm Lake, TSD, KKM, AWC, etc.).

G17 mags will work fine in a G19, they'll just stick out a bit. Like so:

Ah my mistake thanks. And is there a aftermarket sleeve or somthing to cover the last bit on the mags?

I think that is correct, but not as much info out there about that

Yes there are extenders to extend the grip
