I recently broke out Dad's old Rem 513TR .22 bolt action. It hadn't been fired in over 30 years but he took good care of it. A little heavy but it is for target shooting. What a tack driver! I'm just getting into rifles and this one rules for learning on so far.

Anybody know anything about this rifle? I don't know how long they've been out of production. I'd love to score couple more magazines for it.

Blue Book says 513 TR was made from 1940 to 1969.
Magazines are available from Brownells and the Sportsman's Guide even has 10-round magazines.
I have had mine since 1959, secondhand then, and it is still a good .22 rifle. I now use it for offhand practice for BPCR Silhouette. No point burning up those lovingly cast .38-55 bullets at 100 yards.

Great rifle! Personally I have never had a bit of luck with aftermarket mag's for any remington 500 series rifle. I would be very wary of them; factory's are well worth the extra$.:D
