Doing my usual pre-buy waffling between a few Animal-named pistols, I was checking the Chiappa website, and it appears one of the SHOT show announcements was the addition of 2 new calibers.

.40... and 9x21 (new one to me, had to Google it)

I'm not much for Magnums, and was considering just loading .38 +p's until noticing the addition. The .40 is mildly tempting. (though I reload both).

I now find myself wondering whether the company going to work the ladder on Calibers, and visit the .41 or .44 Mag, and getting any of the current ones will just lead to buyers remorse.

If they'd added a .45 Colt this post would likely have been titled "Ordered sight unseen".

I have a Rhino and shooting my full bore .357 handloads is like shooting my target 38 Sp loads in my model 66. It is very fast on follow up shots and much more accurate than my SP101. I have had mine for only 2 mos but it is becoming one of my favorite carry guns.

I think a .44 Rhino is definitely in order, the name and caliber just seem to go together. I really like everything about them and really want but it's not very high on the list considering the price and availability.

Make .45 ACP that is as tough as a .44 magnum in a 4" barrel. Make it strong enough to shoot .45 Super on a regular diet. Get it in the gunshops at less than $800, you might see me buying it. Otherwise I'm sticking with Ruger Revolvers for the time being, I like my nuclear .357 magnum loads, because a 158 grain SWC going 1500 fps(I know incredibly hot but not quite nuclear) out of a 6" barrel just puts a smile on my face.

That would certainly make the pistol worthy of the name "rhino".

I'd be happy with .45 colt +p, but I also like my revolvers Heavy.

Man those things are ugly as sin.

Can't wait to shoot one though.

I like the look of the Rhino and I like what it offers BUT I don't think I could buy a gun that requires a very specif grip. You almost have to use a tea-cup and saucer grip. When most of us train to NOT use that grip.

If a 44 Mag Rhino with a 6" barrel and adjustable sights is in the offering I might have to bite.
