Ive been neck and neck on choosing which to go with. The poll outcome will decide which I go with.

I don't shoot my m1a more than a couple times a year. I'm going hunting in November, which is the primary reason for this mount.

Of those two, I voted for the Basset... though my actual preference on my own rifles is for one not listed, the ARMS #18.

Read this page (http://sadlak.com/si_improvements_to_bpt.html) at Sadlak. Then read this page (http://sadlak.com/si_inspect_kit.html). Then you can make a informed decision.

I've been shooting the Sadlak mount for over five years now and I'm very happy with it. It does not effect ejection like some mounts. The over size fasteners at the charging bridge make it rock solid, no need for any thread locking compounds.

I remove the mount once a year for cleaning the rifle and it remounts within 1-2 moa

madcrate, did you have any trouble with sadlak with your gun possibly being out of spec?

Replace the upper guard with rail and mount scout scope (Ulitmak). Why go side mount?
