I am looking at a Kahr P40 with a black slide and night sights. It is used but in excellent condition(purchased Nov 2011 new) with a very low round count. What would be a fair price? What if any issues are there with this pistol, what upgrades if any should I look at if I do buy it. What is the slide coating on the stainless, does it hold up to holster wear?

The pistol is listed for $500, is that a fair price?

I don't seem to see a lot of information on the P series, is it not a good/desirable pistol when compared to the other models?

The original owner is upgrading to a TP45 is the only reason he is selling it.

In the condition you describe, plus the night sights (a $100 value by themselves), and with a known provenance (you don't want someone else's lemon), half a grand is OK, not a screaming deal, but not a ripoff either. That would probably be a $650-$700 gun new.
