Best-looking stainless/nickle + wood grip pistols

Yeah another "best of" thread. However, to me, nothing beats the look of fine wood grips on a matte nickle or brushed stainless frame. I'm admit that part of my reason for starting this is because I'm not aware of all the wonderful hardware out there and am hoping that this'll educate me some. Hoping to get - or build - something for my wife.

I'll start. Some of the nicest ones are modified factory units, and that's fine. The prettier the better, simi-auto, wheel gun, doesn't matter. Be sure to identify it... nothing worse than seeing an absolutely awesome handgun and not knowing what it is.

Ken Lunde HK P7M8, hard-chrome with Nills grips.

It's even more impressive to see what the starting point was...

Be sure to identify the pistol... nothing worse than seeing an absolutely awesome handgun and not knowing what it is.
In the spirit of that statement, should we identify this as Ken Lunde's photograph...or did you copy his style?

He's very good about letting his work be used, but he does ask that it be credited to him

None of these are my pistols or photos, just pictures of pistols I like. Are we to use only photos we take? I have no idea if that's Ken Lunde's or an owner's picture.

Ken's photographic style is pretty unique. And he just asks that he be given credit...thanks for the edit of your OP...as his work is of such high quality that it has been stolen and used for commercial purposes without his permission.

Just for clarity, his P7M8 isn't nickle plated. This is an aftermarket Hard Chrome done by Tripp Research and the grips are Nills

You might like to see some of his other work http://lundestudio.com

My vote goes to the Sig P232 with nill grips. Almost any gun with Nill grips is a winner.
Below is my imitation of a Lunde photo. Close, huh?

I always hated nickel and stainless guns until I got my first. When I realized how much nicer they are then blue I was hooked.

Only owned one nickel gun, a S&W model 27. That gun made me realize that finish is easy care too, at least compared to blue.

Almost bought a nice 1911 a few years ago that was nickel, nice looking gun but I felt the price was just to high. It was a Springfield with just about every option you could possibly want and accurized.

Hah, that was the next one that I found after the Lunde pistol. Really like the looks of it! I admit I'm trying to find one that my wife might fall in love with, so it would have to be a .357, .38, or 9 mm. She's not big on guns but "pretty" is a start.

It was to me, too, until I saw the astronomical pricing on Ken Lunde pistols. Then I realized that I could just build my own based upon a used stock unit. Since then - as pretty as it is - I'm not impressed with the P7M8 enough to start with it since it has a high-effort squeeze-cocker. Regardless, this thread is about looks, so...

I'll add one, even though you guys have more in the grips on your guns than I probably do in my entire gun! :what:

Even so, I like it. And, I did the grips myself. You can say that, "It looks like it too!" but, truth be told, I like it better than the plastic black grips that were on my Llama 9mm. The new ones give it a little class. Sure, it's probably like "new money" to some of the classics, but I'm comfortable with it. This was before I oiled up the wood and finished them off. Hope you like 'em!

I give 10 extra points to anyone who makes their own stuff, regardless what it is. I bet the grips look great after they were oiled.

It's not really nickel or stainless per se, but my highly biased opinion is that my Wilson Combat CQB in NP3 takes the cake on this one:

It' nothing personal, but your pictures are a perfect example of why a flash is bad news on pistols. Try taking a picture with the flash disabled, or take some shots outdoors on a cloudy day. It really makes a huge difference on "presentation."

Nickel is hard for me even outside on a cloudy day. You can see the overhead trees reflected in the nickel.
