I picked up a Ken Onion Ripple at Wallyworld last week for $29. I was just browsing the Cabela's site and saw the same knife for $119. What gives? The Wallyworld one was blisterpack and the Cabela's site advertises sharp out of the box. The picture on their site looks the same as mine and I don't see any difference. Did I just get a really good deal?

That's a matter of opinion whether you got a good deal or not, but you didn't get the type of "really good deal" you're talking about.

Cheaper liner lock version at Walmart instead of the framelock. Possible use of a different steel and possible deletion of the IKBS bearing system.

IOW, it has the style of the Ripple, but not the high end features.

You are thinking of this:

You bought this:
http://www.crkt.com/K415KXP

The first one is a stainless steel frame lock with an Acuto+ blade.

The second one is an aluminum scaled liner lock with a common Chinese blade steel.

Thanks for the links. That explained a lot. Now I won't feel bad if I lose this one.
