Is it worth the price? The pistol will be spending time off shore. I know there are 226 models that come equipped for this type of service, but I'm not interested in buying another gun. (gasp!)

I'm glad they provide that service, those discounts are earned, but I'm a civilian.

Electroless nickel (which is what NP3 is) is a nice salt spray resistant coating. You might take a look at CCR as an alternative source. Their CS and QC is outstanding and I believe a little less spendy

Does anyone have a contact for them?

Found it on my own. Here is is for anyone else looking. http://www.ccrrefinishing.com/pricing.html
Pricing less expensive..
$275 NPII (CCR) vs. $315 NP3 (Robar)
Does anyone know the difference between the NP2, NP3 and NP3 Plus? Even the websites don't seem to offer much detail. It all sounds pretty much the same.

I seem to remember that CCR gives a discount to THR members. Not a ton, but a discount. Might want to ask.

I have NP3 on my Wilson Combat CQB Compact and have been immensely happy with it.

I think you meant CPII, which is their Cera-Plate II. CPII is a composite plating process...Electroless Nickel / Boron Nitride tank plating. CPII is supposed to be stronger (they say 10x) than EL/Teflon. It has the appearance of bead blasted stainless, which should look like your current 226ST
They are mixing Boron Nitride particles with the EL...whereas Robar mixes Teflon with the EL for their NP3...to make it tougher against wear than the teflon added combinations
I have no idea what NP3+ is

Thanks 9. You're right, CPII. Discount to THR members would be a decision maker. It's good to see that type of support.

The 226 is on its way. CCR was on it and they are still offering a discount to THR members. Thanks for the recommendation.
